I found this idea on the Pleasant Home Kitchen blog for quick and easy Valentine’s treats. I just happened to also have left over candy canes from Christmas to use up as well! Look how sweet these are:

It took very few ingredients:

candy melts, candy canes, sprinkles, and lollipop sticks. Since I made so many cake pops around Christmas, I had plenty of lollipop sticks and bags left over! Not to mention quite a collection of candy melts
I filled the candy cane hearts and my son quickly added the sprinkles!

I hope his classmates love them!
You’ve got time – go try some!

In honor of Nichole’s new twin baby boys, I decided to make some Baby Cakes aka Cake bites aka Cake pops!
I got the idea from Bakerella and followed her directions here. They were super easy to make and, with the help of a friend, we had made over 60 in just under 3 hours!
Here is how we did it: first we make the cake – it was Devils food! Yum! After crumbling the cooled cake, we mixed in a can of cream cheese frosting into the crumbs and rolled it into quarter-sized balls. Here is Meghan doing some fabulous rolling:

While the cake balls hardened up in the freezer a little bit, we melted the candy melts and spooned some into each hole in a candy mold. They looked like Peanut butter cups! Before it had time to harden, we pushed a cake ball into the center of each one.

Then back into the freezer they went to harden up!

After they were hard, we rolled the tops in more candy melts and decorated them as quickly as we could! It happened so fast that I didn’t get any pictures of it! So sorry!
Here is the finished product:

I like the variety of colors, sprinkles, and M&Ms on top. Need a close up?

Now you just want to bite the computer, don’t you?!?!?! Here they are packed up and ready to go to the Eagle’s Nest fundraiser:

Apparently, they were a big hit! I have already gotten emails about making cakes for people who purchased them that day!
I made some into the cake pop variety for Bonnie’s birthday celebration that same evening:

They were pretty and delicious! Check out coastalcakery.com if you want me to make you some too!
